Install & open Hound
Download Hound on your Android device. Grant storage permission and choose a folder to share.
Start the server
Tap the toggle in Server mode. Hound shows your device's local IP address and port (e.g. 192.168.1.5:8080).
Connect & transfer
Open that address in any browser — or use Hound's Client mode on another Android device. Browse, download, and upload freely.

Do I need an internet connection?
No. Hound works entirely over your local Wi-Fi or Ethernet. No internet connection is needed at any point.
Can someone outside my Wi-Fi see my files?
No. Hound's server is bound to your local network subnet and is not reachable from the internet.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no hard limit. Transfer speed depends only on your local network hardware — typically 30–900 MB/s on modern Wi-Fi.
Does it work from a laptop or PC?
Yes. Once the server is running on your Android device, open the displayed IP address in any browser on your computer — no app needed.
